Three things that add value to my life (november 2014).

15 pounds a month for 2 audiobooks some people might feel it’s an investment for what can boil down to 20-30 hours of entertainment a week but they have a massive catalogue of very good content and the app makes it a joy to listen to the books if you use and android or apple device.  I have developed my knowledge on history, fiance, nutrition and much more on my way to and from work and the gym for the price of a pizza or 3 pints.  Reading is honestly one of the best things you can do, reading while you are doing something else might just be the best thing you can do.

2 – Dan Carlin’s hardcore history podcast.

With out question my favourite podcast (he might not be the most punctual) but the content he does provide is simply phenomenal.  If you have even a fleeting interest in history you should make time to listen to his content.  He provides all of his most recent content for free and when they go behind his paywall they only cost $1 per show and they are worth every cent.  He is currently doing a series on the first world war and his visceral and most of all his personal account of the war breathes life into what can be a very hard to grasp topic.  Go listen now.

3 – Weihenstephaner vitus

My body is my temple and in this temple we worship at the alter of wheat beer, this particular number is as close to the holy sacrament as I have come.  It has a nice fresh taste and a full body (I don’t want to sound too much like a knob so I will stop this chat now) but it is beautiful.  It also packs a bit of a whollop at 7.7% if you like larger or even better you like wheat beer you need this in your life.

Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head that sticks around for a minute or two. Wonderful nose of bananas and citrus. Crisp clean flavor with a hint of bananas and a hint of alcohol at the finish. Creamy mouth feel. With all the great reviews you don’t need me to tell you this is an outstanding beer. – Lad on a beer website
